In September 2026, people searched for Gemini by name about 190,000 times in New Zealand, a 6.7% decrease from the previous year. These searches made up 4.1% of all New Zealand AI chatbot searches, placing Gemini second out of five chatbots. When we asked both ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews about AI chatbots, Gemini appeared in four of the five answers and was the third most recommended of the five.
