In September 2026, people searched for Claude by name about 92,200 times in New Zealand, a 232.8% increase from the previous year. These searches made up 2% of all New Zealand AI chatbot searches, placing Claude fourth out of five chatbots. When we asked both ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews about AI chatbots, Claude appeared in all answers and was the second most recommended of the five.
