In September 2026, Microsoft Teams had more branded searches than Google Chat among team chat apps worldwide. Microsoft Teams had about 4.1 million branded searches, while Google Chat had 3.4 million. Microsoft Teams made up 9.7% of all team chat app searches we track, and Google Chat accounted for 7.9%. When we asked ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews about team chat apps, both Google Chat and Microsoft Teams appeared in all five answers.
