In September 2026, Claude had more branded searches than Microsoft Copilot among generative AI platforms worldwide. Claude had about 116.6 million branded searches, while Microsoft Copilot had 24.2 million. Claude made up 4.2% of all generative AI platform searches we track, and Microsoft Copilot accounted for 0.88%. When we asked ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews about generative AI platforms, Claude and Microsoft Copilot each appeared in four of the five answers. Claude was mentioned before Microsoft Copilot in four out of five answers.
