How popular isChatGPT?

In September 2026, people searched for ChatGPT by name about 1903.3 million times worldwide, a 22.8% increase from the previous year. These searches made up 69.3% of all global generative AI platform searches, placing ChatGPT first out of seven platforms. When we asked both ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews about generative AI platforms, ChatGPT appeared in four of the five answers and was the most recommended of the seven.
