In September 2026, Microsoft Teams had more branded searches than Slack among team chat apps in New Zealand. Microsoft Teams had about 17,400 branded searches, while Slack had 10,900. Microsoft Teams made up 10.5% of all team chat app searches we track, and Slack accounted for 6.6%. When we asked ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews about team chat apps, both Microsoft Teams and Slack appeared in all five answers.
