In September 2026, Pixabay had more branded searches than Pexels among stock image sites worldwide. Pixabay had about 3.4 million branded searches, while Pexels had 2.2 million. Pixabay made up 30.8% of all stock image site searches we track, and Pexels accounted for 20.6%. When we asked ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews about stock image sites, Pexels appeared in all five answers and Pixabay in three. Pexels was mentioned before Pixabay in four out of five answers.
