In September 2026, Google Translate had more branded searches than QuillBot among online translation tools worldwide. Google Translate had about 226.9 million branded searches, while QuillBot had 5.1 million. Google Translate made up 89.2% of all online translation tool searches we track, and QuillBot accounted for 2%. When we asked ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews about online translation tools, Google Translate appeared in four of the five answers and QuillBot in two. Google Translate was mentioned before QuillBot in four out of five answers.

Top online translation tools in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews

In three ChatGPT questions and two Google AI Overviews, Google Translate was mentioned in four out of five: in all three ChatGPT answers and in one of the two Google AI Overviews. QuillBot was mentioned in two out of five: not in any of the three ChatGPT answers, but in both Google AI Overviews. Google Translate was listed before QuillBot in four out of five answers.
