Car brands in the United Kingdom:Which are most popular?
In September 2026, Toyota was the most searched car brand in the United Kingdom, accounting for 5.8% of all searches among the 55 brands we track. When we checked with ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, Toyota and Honda were mentioned most often, in three of the five answers. Toyota was recommended most often, coming first in two out of five responses.

Top car brands in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews
In Brandwave's three ChatGPT questions and two Google AI Overviews, Toyota and Honda were mentioned most often, in three of the five answers. Toyota was recommended most often, coming first in two out of five answers. Honda was second, and Volkswagen was third. Cupra, which ranked 15th in searches, was not mentioned at all.
