Tripadvisor vs Trustpilot:Which is more popular?

In September 2026, Tripadvisor had more branded searches than Trustpilot among customer review platforms in New Zealand. Tripadvisor had about 9,900 branded searches, while Trustpilot had 6,600. Tripadvisor made up 58.1% of all customer review platform searches we track, and Trustpilot accounted for 38.7%. When we asked ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews about customer review platforms, Trustpilot appeared in four of the five answers and Tripadvisor in three. Trustpilot was mentioned before Tripadvisor in every answer that named either.

In three ChatGPT questions and two Google AI Overviews, Trustpilot was mentioned in four out of five: in two of the three ChatGPT answers and in both Google AI Overviews. Tripadvisor was mentioned in three out of five: in two of the three ChatGPT answers and in one of the two Google AI Overviews. Trustpilot was listed before Tripadvisor in every answer that named either.
