In September 2026, Google Maps had more branded searches than Organic Maps among navigation apps worldwide. Google Maps had about 185 million branded searches, while Organic Maps had 90,500. Google Maps made up 97.4% of all navigation app searches we track, and Organic Maps accounted for 0.05%. When we asked ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews about navigation apps, Google Maps appeared in all five answers and Organic Maps in three. Google Maps was mentioned before Organic Maps in four out of five answers.
