ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude:Which are most popular?

In September 2026, ChatGPT drew 70.3% of estimated branded searches across these three brands within global English language branded search, ahead of Gemini at 25.4%. When we checked with ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude showed up in every answer. Of all nine brands we track in AI chat assistants, ChatGPT was the most recommended, Claude was second and Gemini was third.

In three ChatGPT questions and two Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude appeared every time. Of all nine brands we track in AI chat assistants, ChatGPT was the most recommended, Claude was second and Gemini was third.
